A note from Dot:
Dear Members,
Happy New Year to everyone! I hope all of you had a safe and happy
holiday…now it’s time to start planning for another great year at the Carolina
Shag Club! First, I want to thank the 2014 board and committee members for the
tremendous job they did last year. I am very thankful that most of the committee
members from last year will remain this year…if it ain’t broken, don’t fix it. I am
also very thankful for the support we have from our members.
This year we are planning a Jack and Jill dance contest. This should be a lot of
fun and we hope will get members dancing with new partners. If you have any
suggestions or ideas for this or other parties, please let us know.
Also this year, The Phoenix Inn is sponsoring a Competitive Shaggers
Association (CSA) shag competition November 13-14. This will be a very
exciting event and a chance to host some of the best shaggers in the area.
Mid-Winter is coming-up January 16-18 in North Myrtle Beach. If you have
already purchased your SOS Card, don’t leave home without it! You will need to
have an SOS card to enter most clubs. Hope to see you at the beach!

We really do have a fabulous shag club…
Our thanks to everyone who so generously donated toys and/or money to Toys
for Tots. We were able to bring them $350 (even Santa needs some money) and
two very large bags of toys. Your generosity enabled some area children to have
a Merry Christmas.

There are only a few SOS cards remaining. Please see Dot Morgan or any board
member if you are interested in purchasing your card. Please make your check
payable to the Carolina Shag Club. You may also purchase them with a credit
card for $31, which includes a $1 convenience fee. These passes are sold for $35
at the beach.

The Carolina Shag Club will once again host the Greenville Area Hall
of Fame on May 2, 2015. You don’t want to miss this great event so
mark your calendars now.

Our Annual Charity Golf Tournament will be held at the Hejaz Golf
Club (same as prior years) on May 16th, 2015 (the Saturday after
Mother’s Day). We need all of our members who golf to participate in
this event. We also need gifts for our golfers. The Golf Tournament is
the major fundraiser for our club. See Dan Ellington or Glenn Cole for
more information.

We Shag each Wednesday night at McKibbons Pub - the DJ starts about 8:15.
We normally Shag on the Second Saturday, and the Fourth Friday of each
