Barrow Road Barton on Humber North Lincolnshire DN18 6AE Headteacher: Mr Richard Briggs Website: www.baysgarthschool.co.uk Main Office Tel: 01652 632576 Student Support Centre Tel: 01652 635904 Fax: 01652 635973 E-mail: [email protected] Our Ref: RBr/JCr Thursday 18 December 2014 Dear Parent(s)/Carer(s) The Future For Baysgarth – Monday 12th January 2015 As we come to the end of my first term as Headteacher at Baysgarth School, I want to thank you for your support and invite you to an event where we look forward to the bright future for the school and the local community. My observations on this first term are that we have all the ingredients we need to have a fantastic school here at Baysgarth (superb students and dedicated staff) but that at the moment they are not always coming together to make the perfect cake that we can all be proud of. We have a clear vision of where the school will be moving to and the type of school community we are trying to create for the future. We want you to be part of shaping this future and we have started this process with the uniform consultation that was mentioned in the newsletter and for which you can find a link on our website. We are inviting you to come and find out more of how we plan to shape the future of Baysgarth at an evening for parents and carers. This will take place in the Main Hall at 6pm on Monday 12th January 2015. In the meeting we will look at different issues that relate to the future direction of Baysgarth School including: Uniform – the results from the consultations and next steps Baysgarth Values – what we stand for as a school and how this will be embedded across everything we do Rewards and Sanctions – our new rewards system for students and the expectations we have for our students in lessons and around the school Our new build programme – the timelines for the new build, how it will impact on our students and the vision for the site in 2016/17 Our Sixth Form partnership with John Leggott College – our high expectations for the enhancement and delivery of high quality education and outcomes for our post-16 learners The evening should last about an hour and key staff will be available afterwards if you have any questions or queries following the presentations. We expect that this will be a popular evening so we are limiting tickets to two per household. If you would like to attend, you will need to book in for the event in the same way as you did for parents’ evening, using our new online booking system. Please go to https://baysgarth.parentseveningsystem.co.uk/ to register your interest and book your tickets for this event. If you do not have internet access, please phone the school and ask for Angela Blow who will book tickets for you. I hope you have a peaceful and happy Christmas and New Year. Yours sincerely Richard Briggs Headteacher
