NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS FOR CATHOLICS—HAPPY NEW YEAR!
 I resolve to arrive at Mass on time and dressed appropriately.
 I resolve to sing. Loudly.
 When the usher comes by with the collection basket, I will not put in a five-dollar bill and take out
four ones.
 I resolve to actually shake hands with those around me during the Sign of Peace, and really mean it.
 I resolve to say all prayers in Mass. Loudly.
 I will not bolt for the door after Communion to be first in line for donuts.
 I will stay in my pew and sing the Recessional hymn with the rest of the congregation.
 I will be patient with other drivers in the parking lot.
Father John Burns (331-0872) is available by appointment only for Spiritual Direction and Confession in his apartment. His
phone may be on “silent” if he is with someone so please leave a message. He is also available to say Masses for deceased or
living intentions. His address is 514D Douglas St., Bakersfield/Oildale. The entrance is off China Grade Loop West of McCray in
the Whispering Meadows complex. Call Fr. John for directions.
