1. The post contained in this circular are vacant at national level and are hereby
advertised for appointment purposes as prescribed in National Instruction 6/2005.
The posts will also be advertised externally in the “Rapport, City Press on the
2015-01-11 and The Star” on 2015-01-14. The content of this circular will be
available on the South African Police Service website and will also be circulated to
all e-mail users by means of Communication Nodal Point and must be made
available to all employees of the South African Police Service.
2. Competency in the post-specific core functions of the advertised posts.*Be fluent
in at least two of the official languages, of which one must be English. *Be in
possession of a Senior Certificate/Grade 12 and a three year LLB degree or
equivalent. * At least five (5) years relevant experience in the field of the post of
which two (2) years must be on a managerial level. *Must be proficient in providing
both written and verbal Legal advice and report writing. *At least a valid light motor
vehicle driver’s license and must be medically, physically and mentally fit. Must
have no previous criminal convictions or cases pending. * Computer literacy (MS
Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Excel).* Be able to render at least ten (10) years of
pensionable service before reaching the pensionable age of 60.

the interpretation and application of the official directives of the SAPS.

Attend, participate, feedback and follow-up on meetings and consultations.
Present/Provide legal lectures and opinions to primary and secondary clients.
Manage and control the human and physical resources of the component.
Promote the interests of the SAPS.
GENERAL:

















Only the official application form which will be available at all HRM Sections at
Police Stations within Gauteng Province will be accepted. All instructions on the
application form must be adhered to; failure to do so may result in the rejection of
the application.
The post particulars and reference number of the post must be correctly specified
on the application form.
Comprehensive Curriculum Vitae must be submitted together with the application
form.
Certified copies of an applicant’s ID document, motor vehicle driver’s licence
(where applicable), all educational qualifications obtained together with academic
records thereof and service certificates of previous employers stating the
occupation, must also be submitted and attached to every application.

Applicants will be subjected to fingerprint screening.
Persons who retired from the Public Service by taking a severance package, early
retirement or for medical reasons, as well as persons with previous convictions,
are excluded.

Appointments for level5 posts will be made in terms of the Public Service Act, 1994

Appointments for levels 8 to 12 posts will be made in terms of the South African
Police Service Act 68 of 1995

The National Commissioner may withdraw an advertised post for lateral filling or
re-advertisement as deemed necessary for service delivery.
