When you call the police, say:
①何が起こったのかを伝える。
"Dorobo desu" for a robbery.
蘆警察の場合
"Tasukete kudasai" if you urgently need
help.
"Jiko desu" if you are involved in a traffic
「泥棒です」「助けてください」「事故です」
蘆消防署の場合
「火事です」「けがをしました」「急病です」

When you call a fire station, say:

somewhere you don't know, ask a person
nearby to describe the location or tell them
landmarks. Then tell them your name.
Note: Give the address in this order: Name
of town or street, the lot number, and the
house number.
●How to use a public phone in an emergency
公衆電話で緊急電話する場合
①Pick up the receiver.
Press the red button.
② Press the button "110" (for the police) or
"119" (for the fire station).
Any emergency call from a public telephone
is free of charge.
①受話器を取り、赤いボタンを押す。
②蕁110(警察)または蕁119(消防署)を押す。
*緊急連絡の場合のみ、無料で公衆電話を利用できま
す。
