I got away from it for a long time, but lately while taking classes, exploring other mediums and looking for ‘my style’, I decided to try it again. It is sort of a cubistic style that came from my admiration of Lionel Feininger’s work. Sail boats lend themselves easily to this look as do landscapes.” Presently, Alicia teaches watercolor, acrylics and oil painting in a 55+ complex in Mesa. Her interests have changed from painting realistically to exploring different mediums and more expressive styles. At present she is working in watercolors as well as mixed media, using a combination of collage elements, textures, acrylics paints with oil glazes. She also makes wire wrapped jewelry and has her jewelry at the Mesa Art Center Artist Coop Store and the Red Canyon Collections shop in the Tlaquepaque shops in Sedona. Alicia is a juried member of the Arizona Art Alliance and the Sedona Art Center. Happy New Year. I hope 2015 will be a creative and productive one for all.
