Daniel J. Verwiel Vice President and General Manager Integrated Air and Missile Defense Northrop Grumman Information Systems Daniel J. Verwiel is the vice president and general manager of the Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) division within Northrop Grumman’s Information Systems. The IAMD division provides integrated air, space and missile defense solutions to the Missile Defense Agency and the U.S. Army for the national security of the United States and its allies. Key programs include the Joint National Integration Center Research and Development Contract; Ground-based Midcourse Defense; and Command and Control (C2), Battle Management and Communications for the Missile Defense Agency. Additionally, he has responsibility for the U.S. Army Integrated, Air and Missile Defense Battle Command System program. Previously, Mr. Verwiel was the vice president of Air and Missile Defense Systems in the former Federal and Defense Technologies division. Prior to that, Mr. Verwiel served as the director of the Tactical Mission Command (TMC) operating unit within the former Defense Systems division. The TMC organization was responsible for the implementation and fielding of key battle command systems used by U.S. and coalition forces supporting the global war on terror. These systems involve the integration of hardware, software and networked communications for land and air battlefield platforms to provide situational awareness and C2 capabilities for blue and red force tracking, air and missile defense, and force protection. Mr. Verwiel has held important program leadership assignments supporting the U.S. Air Force, Army and Marine Corps on programs such as Information Technology Systems, Integrated Base Defense Systems, Force XX1 Battle Command Brigade and Below, Blue Force Tracking, Counter Rocket, Artillery and Mortor (C-RAM), the Air and Missile Defense Work Station, and a number of tactical C2 and communications initiatives. Mr. Verwiel also served as the Tactical Systems division’s U.S. Army C-RAM program manager and director for U.S. Army Integrated Security Program Development for the Integrated Security and Force Protection business unit. Supporting forward operating bases throughout southwest Asia, this unit experienced significant financial and operational growth under his leadership, not only within the C-RAM program, but in the design and implementation of U.S. Army force protection systems worldwide.
