CORE Junior – integrated into annual CORE call
Generally 3 years, submitted by a junior Principal Investigator
Budget: ~0.3-0.5 mio €/project
CORE Junior Track projects should help unexperienced PIs to establish own independent
research lines
The project should be initiated by the Junior PI and should be hosted within an existing
research group
The research should largely be conducted by the Junior PI with limited additional staff &
collaborations (2 FTE; PI at least 50% on the project; one national or international
collaboration)
The ambition and thus the feasibility of the project should be in line with the experience of
the PI
Additional independent advice on the scientific orientation of the project, career development
and networking is provided by a mentor abroad
10
ATTRACT – Excellent researchers from abroad
Annual Call, Project duration: 5 years
Budget: 1.75 – 2.5 mio. € per project (depending on researcher’s level of experience)
The ATTRACT programme aims to support the Luxembourgish research institutions to expand their
competences in strategic research areas by attracting outstanding young researchers with high
potential to Luxembourg.
The ATTRACT programme is designed for researchers not yet established in Luxembourg.
Research proposals must be submitted jointly by the candidate and the host institution. Host
institutions will offer candidates the prospect of building up and integrating their research programme
into one of the institution’s focus research areas as well as the chance to develop their research
career within the institution.
