This design feature makes it easy to identify the damaged insulator. In case of breakdown of the insulator, insulating piece of tempered glass breaks into many small fragments. Thus ISHOS cannot be formed as a result of crack during electrical or mechanical abuse, through which will be a short circuit to ground, and it is impossible to detect such an insulator without electrical testing. In the event of breakdown or micro cracks insulation item located in the state of stress as a result of hardening breaks and points to the failed insulator. The pattern of destruction is identical to suspension insulators made of tempered glass.
