July 23, 2014 We are pleased to announce that Andy King has accepted the position of General Manager at the Renaissance Pere Marquette and Renaissance Arts Hotels in New Orleans, effective August 9, 2014. Andy joined Marriott 32 years ago after earning his BS from the University of Illinois. He spent his early years in F&B at various hotels in the Chicago area, then became the Director of Operations at the Marriott Hickory Ridge Conference Center. His first GM roles were at the Conference Center in Huntsville and the Atlanta Medical Center Courtyard. He moved back to full service as the Director of Operations at Atlanta Perimeter Center and spent the last ten years as GM at the MeadowView Golf Resort and Convention Center. During Andy’s most recent role at MeadowView, he and his team achieved incredible BLT results in Guest Satisfaction - finishing #1 in the company twice in the last ten years, and in the Top Ten seven times. Additionally, he earned the “BLT Best Results” award for the S.S.E. Region in 2012 and has been recognized many times for both financial and GSS achievements throughout his career. Very active in his community, Andy has served on the Executive Board for the Chamber of Commerce, Convention and Visitors Bureau, Chairman of the Visitors Enhancement Bureau, local School Board and Treasurer of the district Junior Achievement Board. Andy’s proven leadership in achieving strong financial results, along with his effective associate engagement and ability to utilize the BLT process to drive positive GSS results, make him the perfect candidate to lead these two unique Renaissance properties.
