WHO IS THE INSTRUCTOR
Brian Krasiun is internationally recognized as a leading authority on pressure equipment safety
programs. He has obtained degrees in both Engineering and Administration from the University
of Regina and is a specialist on Integrity Management requirements for the design,
construction, installation and repair of boiler, pressure vessel, pressure piping, and nuclear
pressure equipment.
For over 19 years, Brian had served in numerous technical, managerial, and executive capacities
within the Province of Saskatchewan’s pressure equipment, elevator, and amusement ride
safety programs with both the Provincial Government of Saskatchewan and the newly created
Technical Safety Authority of Saskatchewan (TSASK), including 7 years as Executive Director and
Chief Inspector. During this period, he had spent a number of years developing, implementing,
and providing public education on Integrity Management requirements for the design,
construction, and installation of pressure equipment. Brian was also responsible for the
development and implementation of a model business plan for the delivery of traditional
government safety inspection programs by an arms-length not-for-profit corporation (TSASK).
Brian Krasiun is a long-time member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
and is a past Board of Trustees member for the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel
Inspectors. He continues to actively serve on a number of technical committees including CSA's
pressure equipment and refrigeration committees (B51 and B52) as well as a number of ASME
quality assurance standard and accreditation committees (Qualifications for Authorized
Inspection (QAI-1), QAI Subcommittee on Accreditation (SCA), and Committee on Boiler and
Pressure Vessel Conformity Assessment).
