Maroon State School Newsletter Friday 10th October 2014 Success Through Effort Principal: Mr Danny Laegel Email: [email protected] Phone: 54 636 144 Fax: 54 636 103 _________________________________________________________ Kidpreneur Mrs V. Thank you to all students, staff and parents for making Mrs V’s returned to work so special. We are all so pleased and thankful that Mrs V. has been able to return to us in term four. Our three Kidpreneur businesses OCCA (Olivia, Cody, Carl & Amber), YASS’s BPK (Riley, Chelsea, Chas and James) and NHD Creations (Nicholas, Heather & Darcy) are in the last stages of SET (be informed). The four questions students need to think about when getting SET to launch a business are: 1. Who will want to buy my products? 2. What is my product design? 3. How will I make lots of products? 4. How much should I charge for my products? Students are in the midst working through their production line steps for each product to ensure they are able to mass produce their product and have quality control over the final pieces. To finish the SET Stage, students will work out how much money they should charge for their products by using the revenue calculator. We have our Kidpreneur street stall day in Boonah confirmed – Tuesday 28th October outside IGA and ST Vincent’s Stores. Students will be selling all their products at the stalls from 9:15 am to 11:15 am. Boonah High School Day of Excellence Below is the last Day of Excellence for 2014. th Day 4 – Monday 13 October – Art (making a mask with modrock and collage, Home Economics (making pizza for half a day and then sewing juggling balls in the other half), Manual Arts and Drama – Chelsea (yr 7) – Home Economics, Heather (yr 6) – Art. Students without these shoes will be placed into another subject on the day. The day starts at 8:45 am and finishes at 3:10pm. Parents will need to transport their children who are attending to and from Boonah.
