bus services
This section shows how buses in Merseyside are running between
23 December and 3 January.
You can check how your services are running day-by-day.
If you don’t know which bus company runs your service,

A summary of your Christmas and
New Year bus services
During the festive season, bus services run to different timetables. There may be
fewer buses running on some routes, so please check how services are running
each day from the list below.
Tuesday 23 December
Buses will run to normal Tuesday timetables.
Wednesday 24 December, Christmas Eve
Buses will run to a normal Wednesday timetable but will finish early. After about 1900, all
services will gradually stop running, with no buses running after about 2030. Buses run by
Hatton’s will stop running at about 1630.
Thursday 25 December, Christmas Day
No normal buses will run.
A special limited network of free buses will run across Merseyside, funded by Merseytravel
linking hospitals - ideal if you’ve got to visit friends or family in hospital. See pages 9 - 12 for
details.
Friday 26 December, Boxing Day
A special limited network of buses will run on some routes between about 0900 1800 only. See pages 13 - 23 where we’ve listed all the buses that will be running.
Please check the times of your first and last buses carefully and please remember no buses will run before or after these times.
New for this year, Routes 202 and 204 will be running during the daytime, providing a direct
link between Alder Hey, Broadgreen and The Liverpool Women’s hospitals for the first time!
Also, the North West Vehicle Restoration Trust (NWVRT) will be running Route 80D every 30
minutes, between Liverpool city centre and Garston. This free service will be operated by
heritage vehicles.
Saturday 27 December
Buses will run to normal Saturday timetables.
Sunday 28 December
Buses will run to normal Sunday timetables.
Monday 29 December
Buses funded by Merseytravel will run to Monday timetables.
Buses run by Arriva, Stagecoach Halton Transport and South Lancs Travel in the Liverpool,
Southport and St Helens areas will run to Saturday timetables.
Buses run by Arriva and Stagecoach in the Wirral area will run to Monday timetables.
This includes cross-river buses too.
Buses run by Avon Buses, A & J Taxis, ACE Travel, Cumfybus, Hatton’s, HTL Buses and
Peoplesbus will run to Monday timetables.
South Lancs Travel Route 319 will run to a Saturday timetable.
Morning Merseytravel Routes 250, 56 and 192 will run to Saturday timetables.
Stagecoach Routes 197 and 198 will run to Monday timetables.
South Lancs Travel will also run the 0720 Route 319 bus from St Helens to Ormskirk.
Arriva will also run an 0620 Route 68 bus from Bootle to Aigburth.
Arriva will run also run morning Route 14X between Liverpool and Kirkby.
Halton Transport will run some extra buses to supplement their Saturday service.

Buses will run to the following timetables and will finish early. After about 1900, all
services will gradually stop running, with no buses running after about 2030. Buses
run by Hatton’s will stop running at about 1630.
