• The Master Notebook is the system of organization utilized across the
curriculum at BVT. It is a proven and essential tool for smooth transition
to the vocational technical high school environment.

separating areas for notes, handouts, quizzes/tests and homework.

a different vocational program every other week through late November.

• The Exploratory experience is a major focus of the Career Enrichment 9
course. This is where students develop and revise their career plan,
a reflection of their personal vision of their future.
• In career enrichment class, freshmen receive their scored rubric from shop
week. The school counselor, career enrichment teacher, parents, and/or
liaison may assist in setting goals for the following vocational cycle,
including the provision for additional supports if recommended.
• As the seven exploratory cycles conclude, freshmen and their families
complete a decide activity and return it with their final shop choices listed.
• Final shop placement is determined by student request, performance
during the exploratory process and in accordance with BVT’s state-approved
admissions policy.
BVT Exploratory T-Shirt
Incoming freshmen receive a complimentary T-shirt for exploratory. If you
haven’t ordered your student’s t-shirt yet, sign up at http://goo.gl/rM8hZB.
If you do not have access to a computer, please contact the Vocational Office
at 508-529-7758 ext. 3884 to place your student’s t-shirt order.
Deadline to order your complimentary t-shirt is July 11th 2014.
Beaver Lodge
The BVT School Store is stocked with all of your needs ranging from Valley
Tech attire to notebooks and pens. The Lodge is located in the main hallway
near the cafeteria and will be open the night of the barbecue.

Students receiving free or reduced lunch are also eligible for free or reduced breakfast. Please complete
the School Year 2014-2015 Free and Reduced Price School Meals Application (available online mid-July)
if you feel you may qualify.

Peer Mentor Program
Freshmen and Junior mentors will have the chance to meet for the first time at the annual Welcome
Barbecue on Thursday August 14th so be sure to attend the event! BVT is excited to be offering a peer
mentor program for the first time; we have over 150 Juniors willing to assist and welcome our incoming
Freshmen in any way they can throughout the 2014-15 school year. Members of the Class of 2018 can
expect conversation, programming, and access to mentors both informally and formally throughout the
school year. Our mentors are embedded in clubs, athletics, vocational shops, and every other organization
within the Valley Tech community both inside and outside of the school day. Our mentors are well
informed about the numerous opportunities to get involved and find success at BVT!
Getting involved is made easier with our late busses that depart campus at 3:15 every Tuesday and
Thursday throughout the school year. Representatives from our transportation provider will be available
at the picnic to answer any specific questions students or families may have about the bus schedule,
including the late busses.
