It is our goal to provide you with value, knowledge and networking, to help you in “Raising the Bar” on your goals and outcomes in business. In this fast changing world, today’s ideas are tomorrow’s realities. When our presenters talk about their areas of expertise and their concepts for what the future might hold, in many cases it is already happening. As we planned our agenda for our conference “Raising the Bar – Consulting for Tomorrow” it became apparent that there are so many sectors in the consulting business today in rapid change; yes, some techniques, standards and traditional approaches still work today, some are even more important than ever. However, when change is now a constant, dealing with change and “Consulting for Tomorrow” is really about consulting for today. From our lead off keynote speaker, Gus Takkale, to one of the final presenters, Dominique Dennery, there is a theme regarding change, change management and embracing change. When the presentation on Government Enterprise and the New Lens is compared to what will be revealed in the presentation on Big Data, the conclusions about where the Government of Canada is headed, and what we as consultants need to be aware of, the trends and the inevitable choices we may still have – will be more apparent. Keynote speaker, Susan Delacourt, after our evening dinner, will talk about the choices we have as voters and as consumers, yet she may also touch on political consumerism and the implications that come with it. No one has all the answers, but we have tried to put together a wide variety of presentations that deal with many of the questions of today. There will be presentations under two streams; Navigating Government Waters and Strategies for Success in the Private Sector which will cover essential subjects, such as finding your customer’s voice, growing your business, winning bids and understanding a large client like Shared Service Canada. My two favourite sessions will be the iPanel scheduled for all attendees immediately after lunch and the SR & ED Panel scheduled for later in the day. Combined, these two sessions may provide just the kick start you, or your client’s and start-up companies might need. In closing, I want to thank each of you for attending our conference. Throughout this conference, I ask you to stay engaged, keep us proactive and help us shape the future. My personal respect and thanks go out to all of you and to the volunteers who have helped make this happen. Sincerely, Craig Mackay, CMC Chair, Conference Planning Committee Eastern Ontario Chapter, CMC-Ontario Special thanks to all of our generous Sponsors: Please register at: www.cmc-conference2014.ca CMC-Canada fosters excellence and integrity in the management consulting profession as a whole.
