Description: This is a 24 hour Advanced SWAT/CQB/Hostage Rescue course for
individuals or teams. Attendees must be full-time, sworn Peace Officers only. Attendees
must be sponsored by their department and be assigned to a SWAT team. Attendees
MUST have completed a POST certified Basic SWAT Course in order to attend. This
course will focus on the use of dynamic entry techniques in a hostage rescue environment,
to include advanced tactical procedures, principles of CQB (close quarter battle), CQB
weapons skills, advanced entry tactics and the use of flashbang diversionary devices.
Note: Students should possess an above average level of basic room entry and firearms
skills.
Date/Time: 5/5 – 5/7/2014 (0800 – 1700)
Instructors: Instructor personnel will be FBI Sacramento SWAT/Firearms/Tactical
Instructors.
Locations: This course is conducted at the Northern California Regional Public Safety
Training Authority, 5436 Patrol Road, McClellan Park, Sacramento, CA. Facilities used
include classroom, firearms range and the FBI/JPA Tactical Firearms Training Center
(shoot house).
Fee: A nominal tuition and material fee of $125.00 is assessed by the Northern
California Regional Public Safety Training Authority and must be paid in advance.
Students will not be allowed to complete the course without payment of fees in advance
or on day one of the course.
Following are registration/fee payment procedures which MUST BE FOLLOWED
PRIOR TO ATTENDING THE COURSE:
1) To place your officer(s) on the roster, contact SA Brian Jones (FBI) at

2) In order to register your officer(s) you will then need to contact Ms. Angie Yang,
NCRPSTA, at email [email protected] or telephone number (916) 5661532 to arrange payment. An invoice will be provided to you by the NCRPSTA.
3) Course registration fees must be paid in advance and are due prior to the start of
class.

POST: This course is P.O.S.T. Plan IV certified.
Required Equipment:
1. Department SWAT uniform or similar clothing, with long sleeves.
2. Lace up over the ankle boots.
3. Department-issued ballistic body armor.
4. Nomex gloves.
5. Eye and ear protection.
6. Ballistic helmet.
7. Goggles.
8. Five (5) diversionary devices (flash bangs) per student.
9. Weapon cleaning equipment
10. Notebook and pen.
Weapons: Each student must have passed their departmental qualification course for
both their issued handgun and submachine gun and be familiar with the weapons, to
include assembly and disassembly.
The following weapons and ammunition are REQUIRED for the course:
1. Handgun with minimum of three magazines.
2. Long gun (.223 rifle or SMG) with minimum of two magazines with Simunition
conversion kit or separate Simunition converted long gun (or other “marking cartridge”
type system, i.e. “Force on Force”, UTM, etc.)
Ammunition:
1. 500 rounds handgun ammunition (range use)
2. 500 rounds rifle (.223)/submachine gun ammunition (range use)
3. 50 rounds .223/SMG caliber Simunition (marking cartridge or CQT) ammunition
(shoothouse use)
There are no loaner weapons available for this course.
STUDENTS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO COMPLETE THE COURSE WITHOUT A
“MARKING CARTRIDGE” MODIFIED LONG GUN.
Driving directions to McClellan Park: Interstate-80, exit on Winters Drive, north on
Winters Avenue, turn left on Dean Street, right on Patrol Road and the range will be on
the right.
