At Dearborn County Hospital, we strive to communicate as effectively to our
employees as possible. It is our commitment to communicate to employees, utilizing
as many means of communication as we have available, to ensure all staff receive
adequate information.
DCH primarily uses 3 types of communication methods: Meetings, Electronic & Print

Employees Information Sessions
All employees are encouraged to attend the Employee Information Sessions conducted
by Roger Howard, President & CEO. These meetings generally includes topics relating

Departmental Meetings
Department meetings are also a great way for employees to receive information
important to their job/department and to their employment. Department
meetings are also an effective way to offer quick training sessions and
competency instruction. Employees should attend department meetings as
advised by the Department Director.

• The intranet page can be accessed from inside the hospital or from a computer

The Employee Newsletter transitioned from a bi-weekly publication (News &
notes) to a monthly electronic newsletter, DCH Highlights. The newsletter is
located on the hospital’s intranet page.
• Buzz
A daily news brief of events & happenings around DCH. The link to Buzz is on
the hospital’s intranet page.

Employee News Sources
• Timeclock
From time to time, notices/announcements are posted on the timeclock.
• Email/Mox
Mox is sometimes used to communicate, both individually and hospital-wide.
Some individuals may also have a hospital email that is used for
hospital/departmental communication purposes.

Paper Communications
• Memos –paper memos are sometimes used to communicate
both hospital-wide and departmentally
• Direct Line – employee tool to have direct communication to
Administrative Council. Note: an employee must sign the direct
line in order to receive a response.
• Employee Bulletin Board – located outside the cafeteria
• HR Service Center – located in the reception area of HR

• Contains Summary Plan Descriptions (SPD) for health,
dental, life, long term disability, tax deferred annuity, and
pension

Communications – Your Responsibilities
• Employee’s also play a key role in the effectiveness of the
hospital’s communication process.
• Employee’s must take responsibility for knowing where
information is located and how to access the information.
• Employee’s are responsible for accessing any and all forms of
communication in order to be properly informed of important
announcements, benefit changes/deadlines, and other
important information communicated by DCH.
