Tuition for the Initial and Advanced Preparation Program is $3,950. Monthly payments can be arranged.
*Courses specific to Career and Technical Education. All other courses are focused on instructional practices for
effective teaching.
Accelerated Program: Holders of a valid Clear Single, Multiple Subject, or Education Specialist teaching credential may
receive equivalencies pending review of official transcripts for credential coursework. Tuition for the Accelerated
Program is $1000. Monthly payments can be arranged.
In order to obtain a Clear Credential the candidate must complete the Initial and Advanced Preparation Program and
demonstrate competency of the Advanced Preparation Program Standards. Candidates must also take a CPR course for
adult, child and infant and a US Constitution test, or have equivalent coursework.
Courses are held two days per week, either Tuesdays and Thursdays or Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30-7:30 p.m.
Candidates are paired with a Practicum Supervisor when employed. The Practicum Supervisor works closely with the
candidate on developing essential knowledge and skills to be an effective teacher.
CTE Teachers are required to secure a teaching position and apply for their Preliminary Designated Subject Teaching
Credential prior to enrolling in the Initial Preparation, SJCOE CTE Credential Program. The SJCOE CTE Teacher
Preparation Program can be completed in 15-18 months depending on date of enrollment and completion of CTE
Candidate Competency Standards, including the CTE Portfolio of Evidence.
