Can you believe fall classes are already here? Well, the truth is, I can't. But on the other hand, the real truth is, we're ready to go! After all, this who we are and what we do! Of course, it's going to be a challenge-as an organization, as a community, and as employers--we have to work even harder every year to serve our students. Personally, I loved this summer in particular, celebrating an th early 30 anniversary with my wife in San Francisco, visiting with my brother and his wife in Virginia (he is in the Civil Service and has not been stationed stateside for 42 years until st now) and enjoying my daughter's 21 birthday together at EPCOT! Like me, I am sure a part of you would have loved to extend summer, but I also know that you, too, love what you do, whether as an educator or a supporter of education, and a part of you could not wait to get back into another new year! Throughout my summer travels, I had the opportunity to see both sides of our amazing country with a trip to Washington, DC and another to San Francisco, CA. What I saw in common from coast to coast were dreamers who made the impossible possible. People with vision and a belief that they could do what others had not done before. There were many aweinspiring landmarks along the way, but there was one in particular that stood out to me as a symbol of what we are trying to do here in CTE. I know you will recognize it: OCPS Tech Centers featured in the Orlando Sentinel! OCPS Tech Centers and the Orlando Sentinel want to help Power Up Orlando this Fall. Classes are just starting and it's never too late to come in As I stood on a hillside and took this picture, I could not help but think about the process that brought this "Golden" landmark to fruition: who drew up the plans, or laid the first and speak with a counselor. Find your next CAREER at one of our five campus locations. block, or poured that concrete, or set the capstone, or ran the cable? In a similar process, this past year, plans were developed, a picture was painted, and the foundation of the next generation of the CTE Legacy was laid. We are building something special and we are doing it together. No one person could have created this amazing bridge. It took thousands all doing their part, in order to point to the sky and span a bay, just as it will take all of us to build our legacy. We have the ability to create something equally amazing, even Forward to a Friend Join the Mailing List more so, because what we are creating will be Changing Lives Through Education at rates higher than ever before. We, too, will be reaching for the sky and spanning whatever obstacle may come before us. We are CTE, we are OCPS Tech Centers and we will be the best at what we do! Things are changing in CTE and they are changing for the right reasons and thanks to each of you, they are changing for the better. We are creating our "landmark" and it will be one that will stand out on the horizon! Welcome to those who are new to CTE, welcome back to those who are returning and thank you for being a supporter of CTE as we create our legacy! Have a Great CTE New Year!
