About the Forum
Key Objectives of the Forum
Families who are struggling, with fear, anger, grief, or
often require a multi-sectoral response to help reduce
tensions, increase safety and promote long term health
of the family. The costs to continue with hostility is far
too great for families and to the system. As experts, we
can and must do better. This forum is one of the first
to bring together first responders and counselling/
mediators/family coordinators to demonstrate how
working together and exchanging best practices can
reduce the “HEAT” in High Conflict Families and have
better outcomes. This is an interactive forum with two
leading experts in Family Court and in child maltreatment. Their expertise will inspire more action for change.
• Learn strategies from each sector on how they work to
reduce conflict or work for better outcomes
HHCF_8.5x11_RegFlyer.indd 1
• Learn from child experts on impacts of high conflict on families
• Participate in expert discussion to learn new strategies
to work cross collaboratively
• Learn risk assessment and risk reduction methods
when domestic violence has been present
Who We Are
A multi-sectoral group of health, legal, child welfare, and violence
against women experts committee formed to develop strategies to improve the outcomes of what has been labelled “High Conflict Families”.
