Turnbull (SCJ) Keynote Speaker Dr. Jean Clinton About the Forum Key Objectives of the Forum Families who are struggling, with fear, anger, grief, or often require a multi-sectoral response to help reduce tensions, increase safety and promote long term health of the family. The costs to continue with hostility is far too great for families and to the system. As experts, we can and must do better. This forum is one of the first to bring together first responders and counselling/ mediators/family coordinators to demonstrate how working together and exchanging best practices can reduce the “HEAT” in High Conflict Families and have better outcomes. This is an interactive forum with two leading experts in Family Court and in child maltreatment. Her extensive community involvement includes 20 years as a consultant to early years and child care programs in Hamilton. She has served as an expert advisor for “Invest in Kids Parenting Initiative”. Dr. Clinton’s skills as a knowledge translator are frequently called upon, presenting to community groups nationally and internationally. Justice James W.R. Turnbull (SCJ) Mr. Justice James Turnbull earned his LLB at Queen’s University Law School in 1970, and his LLM at York University in 1978, with his studies centered on equitable remedies and arbitration. In 1982, he joined the Hamilton law firm of Mackesy Smye, and was appointed the Regional Senior Justice of the Central South Region of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice effective May 1, 2012.
