Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Divisional Secretary, the Divisional Music Director is responsible for the running of the music
and worship arts department as well as the preparation of materials for multi-media projects. Responsible for the
promotion of instrumental and vocal programs throughout the division:
The position requires that the individual be an active, uniformed Salvationist who has a desire to serve in a servantleadership capacity. Individual must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends and be able to
travel extensively. The individual must possess excellent planning, administrative and organizational skills.
Essential Responsibilities:
Serve as an ex-officio member of any divisional committees pertaining to music (e.g. divisional music committee, music
camp planning committee, calendar planning committee etc.). The DMD may be designated chairperson or secretary, at the
discretion of the Divisional Commander.
Audio/Visual/Media Support
 Responsible for the use of audio-visual mediums at DHQ, divisional program events and Corps.
 Create multi-media video presentations for DHQ and the Corps though Media Shout and other like applications for the
program lyrics, graphics and videos.
 Assist with creating graphic arts, publications and promotional materials (including the drafting, design and
distribution) of posters, programs etc. and other multi-media materials.
 Responsible for training personnel in Media Shout and other like applications.
 On-going trouble shooting at Corps on audio-visual equipment.
 Ability to install, set-up, operate and maintain audio-visual equipment; manage and support like systems at the Corps.
Position Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
 Bachelors’ degree in music or music education preferred
 Minimum two years’ experience in a related role preferred
 Valid Colorado Drivers’ License
 High level of proficiency on an instrument and as a vocalist is expected (must play piano)
Software-related skills: Microsoft Word and Excel required, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes, Working knowledge of integrated
database applications and ability to use new software programs with basic training. Knowledge and operation of Media
Shout and Sibelius / Finale music notation software preferred. LifeSize ClearSea Video Conferencing System
