Welcome to the first edition of the PLC Armidale E-News for Past Students,
Past Parents and Past Staff – our much valued Alumni.
It is often challenging to fit all of our alumni news and information we
receive in to two Green Tartan magazines per year. So the PLC Armidale
Development office has initiated this electronic news for Terms 1 and 3
annually, which will be distributed between publications of the Green
Tartan. We also wanted to keep in touch with you on a more regular basis so
that you were up to date with what was happening at the College itself.

It is my pleasure to introduce myself as the Head of School for 2014. The
most recent Alumni may remember me, as this is my tenth year at the
College. I began in 2005 teaching Science and Mathematics and more
recently took on the role of Senior School Coordinator.
The 2014 school year has started with energy and enthusiasm from both
students and staff. We have more new enrolments this year than we had at
this time last year and our total boarding numbers have also increased. This
follows on from outstanding Higher School Certificate results at the end of
2013.

The Sydney Morning Herald calculates the percentage of Band 6 results achieved in a cohort and lists the top 100
schools. According to this statistic, PLC Armidale was ranked as the 64th school in New South Wales. This is the
best result in Northern New South Wales, and a real credit to our students and staff. 29% of our student cohort
achieved an ATAR of over 90 and 74% of students received at least one band 5 or 6.
PLC Armidale is looking forward to further fostering the partnership between the school and our Alumni, our past
students, staff and parents.
