A new European rad-hard microcontroller:
DIGITAL PROGRAMMABLE CONTROLLER

A new rad-hard microcontroller has been developed by Thales Alenia Space – Belgium. This device includes 4
calculation cores and many analog and digital Input/Output. This is a real breakthrough in the European space
qualified parts landscape.
This part will be probably used soon in some Power Conditioning Units (PCDU) and Remote Interface Units
(usually called RIU or RTU). Its large set of communication interfaces makes it usable in a broad range of
applications, such as scientific payload control, motors, actuators, battery management. This part is indeed well
adapted for housekeeping functions which are included in nearly every space unit.
This workshop will deal with technology aspects, procurement aspects and application aspects of DPC.
As this component may enhance the interface of various space units, many space engineers (avionic engineers,
product line managers, electrical engineers, parts procurement engineers) could be interested in this workshop. So
please advertise this event!!
Seminary will take place close to CNES, in a conference room which will be defined at the beginning of November.
