Available in a variety of colors and finishes, it is recommended for use on blasted interior ferrous substrates, without the use of an intermediate epoxy or urethane primer. After agitating Component A, mix 4 volumes of Component A to 1 volume of Component B and mix the two Components well. No reduction is necessary. Mix only what you will use in the time specified on the technical bulletin for the product you are using. Cleaning And Pretreatment The most critical factor in any quality paint job is surface preparation. Inadequate surface preparation can result in premature coating failure. For optimum application and drying, air, substrate and coating should all be at the same ambient temperature. Substrate must be dry and free of all surface contaminants such as oil, grease and silicones prior to coating. Ferrous metals: Solvent wash, acid pickling or hot alkaline wash followed by a thorough water rinse is recommended. Remove all rust, mill scale and weld spatter by abrasive blasting or grinding. For direct-to-metal applications, a minimum of Commercial Blast Cleaning per SSPC-SP6 is required. Where this is not possible, pretreatment with zinc or iron phosphate or wash primer such as Zen-Prep WP 17616GVP is required.
