Help Kids Read, Make Wise Food Choices
Energizing Education is looking for mentors to read to and with children in
kindergarten through 2nd grade for two half-hour sessions a week. The program
was created in 2012 to ensure that all students in Jackson County read at or above
grade level by the 4th grade. The Consumers Energy Foundation
awarded a $125,000 Challenge Grant to start Energizing
Education. For more information, visit www.energizingeducationjackson.org.
To volunteer, contact the Recruitment Coordinator at (517) 841-2148 or email
[email protected].
The Volunteers of Allegiance Health are looking for “I’m In Charge” volunteers to teach 1st through 4th graders in
the classroom about how to fuel their bodies by making healthy food choices and what to keep out of their bodies
(drugs and alcohol). Call Carol Beck at (517) 788-4764 to express interest, learn more and apply.
