JUNIOR SHOW
The Graphic Design
program requires all
junior-level students
to participate in
a Review of their
progress and body
of work. The Review
is an important
opportunity to
employ what students
have learned in their
classes so far and
begin developing
a cohesive body of
work. In response to
a shift in program
requirements, each
designer will be
showing a professional
portfolio. This new
format will allow
reviewers to better
assess the quality
and professionalism
of their work. It
prepares students
when applying for
internships, jobs,
and participating in
the AIGA Portfolio
Review. Each group
of students exhibits
their portfolio books
in the Gugenheim
Gallery on campus
for one week.
Professionals and
friends are invited to
look at their books
during this week and
attend the opening
night planned by the
students themselves.
As part of the
experience, students
will strategize
marketing techniques
to advertise their
gallery show and
increase attendance.
Students are
evaluated by all of
the full and part-
time graphic design
faculty based on their
work, conceptual
statements, the
portfolio, and
installation
of the show.

Originally from Los Angeles, Ashley is a junior at Chapman
University. The commotion and energy of the city led her
to develop an appreciation for simplicity. Basic colors and

style—dynamic design through simplicity. Ashley began studying
design in high school and has continued to grow and hone her
skills at Chapman University. She has worked freelance jobs and
has gained valuable experience through internships at Volcom
and SPARC Media that has pushed her to the level she’s at as a
designer today. Miss Hawthorne has a true passion for design
and cannot wait for it to become her life and dive into it as a
profession.

design. As part of our
marketing strategy,
we have developed
a guerilla campaign
that includes: stickers,
website, and other
social media to get
the word out about
Rogue Designers.
SOLÉ BICYCLES POSTER DESIGN
Designed poster for a California based bicycle company.
Design was geared towards college students and
used for promotional purposes. Features hand drawn
typography with photography provided by Solé.
PEABODY FASHION SHOW COLLATERAL
Designed collateral for Surf Expo’s Peabody
Fashion Show. Flyer shown below was used to
promote show and resized to be used as posters,
postcards, banners, etc.
MIKASA SPORTS PROMO STICKERS
Designed stickers for Mikasa Sports featuring top
selling products in water polo, volleyball, & soccer.
Designed within a custom template and printed
for promotional use.
MIKASA SPORTS HANDBALL & PACKAGING
Designed graphics and packaging for 2013 Mikasa
products including handball below. Product was geared
towards a young demographic and can be purchased
online and in-store. Features hand-drawn elements.
