New Features and Enhancements
This section outlines the new features and enhancements that have been
implemented since the last release.
New Documentation Experience
Oracle Eloqua Fall '14 product documentation is now available on our new
help website at http://docs.oracle.com/cloud/latest/marketingcs_
gs/OMCAA/index.html.
You can access all of our documentation (including API documentation) from
the Oracle Marketing Cloud help center at
http://docs.oracle.com/cloud/latest/marketingcs_gs/
User Interface (UI) Improvements
Template chooser UI updates: landing pages, forms, segments, and emails
template choosers use a consistent, wide-screen interface. The new
choosers include the asset description, if available.
Component library UI update: updated the image chooser to include both a
list view and a thumbnail view, which includes the last modified date and
image dimensions. You can also choose between a list view and a thumbnail

view.
Campaign Canvas
Default path for AppCloud Elements: marketers can now specify a default
path that contacts should flow through for Cloud Action and Decision
elements. This prevents contacts from becoming "stuck" in a step should the
app be unavailable. See: Configuring Cloud Action and Decision Elements
for more information.
Improved handling of AppCloud Elements: if an AppCloud service is not
available when a marketer attempts to add the element to a campaign, email,
or landing page, Eloqua displays an error and prevents the marketer from
adding the service. A marketer, therefore, cannot build a campaign that relies
on non-functional components. See: Campaign Canvas Elements for more
information.

Signature Rules and Layouts
Bulk signature rule management: the email signature rule editor now
includes the option to upload signature mappings from an Excel or CSV file
to facilitate signature rule management. This may be particularly helpful in
large organizations with complex signature rule needs. See: Bulk Upload
Signature Mappings for more information.
Plain text signature layouts: create and edit plain-text versions of signature
layouts. See: Creating Plain Text Signature Layouts for more information.
Signature layouts now use an updated and more consistent editor, used for
dynamic content, shared content, and so on.
Segments and Filters
Visitor filters for segments: the new "Compare Visitor Profile Fields" filter
allows you to filter contacts based on their visitor profile information when
creating segments. See: Segments for more information about adding filters
to segments. Visitor filters are also available in the Shared Filter area.

Emails
Batch send emails: the batch send email option in the Email editor now
allows marketers to choose between sending the message as part of a
simple email or a multi-step campaign. See: Batch Sending Emails from the
Email Editor
Improved responsive template for emails. Emails will display more
consistently when viewed on different-sized devices.
HTML upload live preview editor: the HTML upload editor for emails is now a
generally available feature. See: Live Preview Editors for emails and landing
pages.
Enhanced the WYSIWYG email template editor so it is more convenient to
lock and unlock elements. Read more about using email template manager
protection mode.
Landing Pages
Creating landing page templates: you can now choose a thumbnail of your
landing page when using the “Save as a Template” menu option, and choose
where to save it within your Eloqua folder structure See: Creating a Landing
Page Template for more information.

Lead scoring and page tagging
Drag and drop lead scoring: the lead scoring model editor now supports
dragging and dropping components, as well as double-clicking to add a
component.
Contacts are no longer re-scored if you change the name of the model. This
improves lead scoring performance.
For AdFocus customers, unknownvisitor.elq contacts are now excluded from
lead scoring. This improves lead scoring performance.
Added support for page tag groups: previously, if you wanted to add visited
page tag elements to a lead scoring model, you needed to add each tag
individually. Page tag groups allow you to group similar page tags together
with a rule, so that you can easily add those groups of tags in one step.
See: Page Tagging and Creating Page Tag Groups for more information
The Visited Website filter in the engagement area of the model editor now
allows you to create a rule based on visits to a specific website rather than

visits to "any website".
Marketing Operations Center
New dashboards: two new dashboards have been added to the Marketing
Operations Center. The CRM and Email dashboards allow marketers to
better understand the performance of their integrations and of their Eloqua
installation. See: Marketing Operations Center for more information.

General
Upload assets in bulk and add them to a shared list: when using the External
Asset Upload wizard, you can now specify that the assets should be added
to a shared list.
Support for top-level domains (TLDs) in email addresses: removed the
validation restriction on email addresses to include support for TLDs such as
www.example.vacations or www.example.shopping.
Unsupported browsers: in most modern browsers, rather than blocking
access to Eloqua for non-supported browsers, you now have the option to
proceed with the browser.

New security experience: the security settings are now divided into three
areas: general security options, password complexity configuration, and IP
whitelist security. See: Client Security Configuration for more information.
CipherCloud and Salesforce.com: added support for integration to salesforce
via a CipherCloud gateway. See: CRM Integration for more information.
Country Code in Engage: Eloqua Engage now allows you to associate a
Country Code with a contact. This data can be important when
communicating with prospects for a variety of reasons, such as anti-spam
laws. See: Adding Recipients to Engage for more information.
Controlled Availability
A/B Testing for simple email campaigns: A/B testing allows marketers to test
out two versions of an email on a sub-section of their segment, to determine
which email performs better based on their desired success metrics. See:
Creating an AB Testing Campaign and AB Testing Reports for more
information.
BlueKai ID-swapping: Oracle has developed new ID swapping technology to
integrate your BlueKai Data Management Platform (DMP) with your Eloqua
Cross-Channel Marketing Solution. This integration provides you with a

single, unified view of your customers to help drive more effective marketing
campaigns. See: BlueKai ID Swapping for more information.
Authenticated microsites: authenticated microsites are microsites that require
visitors to be logged in before they can view the site content. This allows you
to create microsites that include sensitive information, or simply information
that you want to restrict to your user base.
External dynamic content: you can now embed your dynamic content
anywhere on the web. This feature works alongside Eloqua visitor tracking to
deliver a custom experience to your visitors.
APIs and AppCloud Developer Framework
AppCloud:
Oracle Eloqua AppCloud Development Framework Developer's Guide
is now available on our new help website at
http://docs.oracle.com/cloud/latest/marketingcs_gs/OMCBA/index.html.
Cloud Actions: new "complete" status allows developers to specify that
contacts should be marked complete as soon as a call is made to the
service's notification URL. This negates the need for the service to call
back into Eloqua with a bulk upload to set the contact's status to
complete. See: Register an Action Service.
Provider ID: the provider ID is now a GUID rather than a providerspecified string.
Actions, Decisions, and Feeders now request both a small icon URL
and a large icon URL. See: Register an Action Service, Register a
Decision Service, and Register a Feeder Service.
App shutdown: when Eloqua shuts down an app, an email message is
now automatically sent to the email address associated with the
provider, with a link that can be used to reactivate the app. See: App
Shutdown for more information.
New Cloud API endpoint that app providers can use to
programmatically check the status of their apps, start the app if it's

down, or put it into maintenance mode. See: Check or Update your
App's Status with the Cloud API
Bulk API v2.0:
Bulk API v2.0 documentation is now available on our new help website
at http://docs.oracle.com/cloud/latest/marketingcs_
gs/OMCBB/index.html.
Support for the Campaign.Id field added to the Form Submit activity
type. See: Bulk Activity Fields.
