IT Company

Shared Service Centre Implementation: Project
Analyst (14 months)
The customer wanted to centralise back-office functions into a Shared Service Centre (SSC) across
Europe / EMEA to reduce costs. Engaged to lead key aspects of planning and support for this integration
project. Created project plan and business case to secure stakeholder buy-in; contributed to site
selection for new SSC; used activity-based costing model to develop project benchmarks; and provided
leadership support to ensure smooth transition to new SSC. Succeeded in centralizing back-office
functions, enabling $20m in annual cost savings.
Power Supply

Swiss High-Voltage Subsidiary Integration:
Project Lead (12 months)
The US customer acquired a Swiss high-voltage company and needed to integrate the company to
penetrate a new industry and enable new service offerings. Engaged to drive business integration of this
new subsidiary. Reviewed existing processes between two organisations, identifying and addressing gaps;
defined project requirements to facilitate smooth integration; provided feedback for integration design; and
ensured smooth data conversion along with UAT. Succeeded in integrating the Swiss subsidiary despite
cultural and industry differences, which opened new sales channels.

Proper Oracle Project Accounting Usage: Change
Management (10 months)
The customer wanted to add consulting / implementation services to its portfolio but lacked proper use of
tools to manage those services. Engaged to drive use of Oracle Project Accounting (OPA) to facilitate
services management. Evaluated ‘as is’ service management processes across 6 countries; customised
strategies for each country to use OPA; ensured clear roles, duties and processes for services
management; and trained users on OPA. Succeeded in increasing accounting accuracy by 63%, improving
project close rate by 83% and cutting project maintenance costs by $1.2m p / a.


Order Management Process Improvement:
Business Analyst (12 months)
The customer needed to standardise order management to expedite orders and cut costs. Engaged to
enhance these processes using Six Sigma. Analysed ten order management projects to identify costly and
inefficient processes; developed new processes and functional specs; used Six Sigma framework to define
new benchmarks & metrics; and participated in testing / implementing process improvements across
projects. Succeeded in expediting orders by 115% for account and 296% for credit card holders, reducing
order processing costs by $3.8m p / a and boosting sales productivity.

eBusiness Group Creation and Expansion:
eBusiness Manager (24 months)
The customer wanted to establish and grow a new eBusiness group to increase revenue and customer
satisfaction. Engaged to build and expand eBusiness group. Assembled team and defined roles as well
as determined target industries and products; launched group and evaluated progress to identify best
areas for development; mentored and coached group staff; and built clear product portfolio to promote
most effective services to appropriate industries. Succeeded in driving group expansion by 25%,
improving revenue by 93% and substantially enhancing customer satisfaction.

Business Consultant & Project Lead (28 months)
 The customer was deploying a new Oracle release & needed it to align with a decentralised procurement
strategy across Europe. Engaged to integrate Oracle release with procurement strategy for trial location
(Austria). Defined business requirements in Austria and identified gaps compared to global procurement
standards; developed 20+ functional specs for custom features and to meet statutory requirements; coordinated UAT; and managed user training. Succeeded in aligning the new Oracle release and the
procurement strategy, which enhanced accuracy, reporting and management control.

Company De-merger: Business Consultant
(12 months)
The customer wanted to sell a portion of its business to a Swiss company but lacked an effective
means to de-merge affected systems. Engaged to enable de-merger and identify what could be
managed via Shared Service Centre (SSC). Determined which data / processes would be de-merged
from Oracle e-Business perspective; identified strategy to migrate remaining data to SSC in Poland;
assisted Swiss company in converting data from Oracle to their legacy system; and led migration of
data to SSC. Succeeded in enabling a smooth de-merger on both ends.

Investment
(OFSAA) MIS Upgrade: Business Analyst
Banking
(20 months)
 The bank suffered inaccurate cost accounting data & required a newer version of OFSAA to improve P&L
reporting. Engaged to lead key aspects of implementation. Created training modules covering 6 areas
including cost accounting and profitability management; implemented new outbound interface between
OFSAA and data warehouse; transformed MIS OFSAA data requirements to fit company’s structure; and
mapped dimensions / categories within OFSAA to match reporting. Succeeded in enhancing use of the
newer MIS as well as improving cost accounting data to support P&L reporting.
