SERVICE BULLETIN No. SB-2014-2014NM460011 dated July 5, 2014
Reference: UPN No.: 2014-2014NM460011 dated May 1, 2014
AFFECTED PRODUCTS
Optional Multi-axis G-switch P/N 450000-1 and its mounting tray P/N PL-AK450-1, used with Ameri-King Corp.
emergency locator transmitters (ELTs), for installation on helicopters only.
PURPOSE
This notification is to advise all aircraft owners, operators, maintenance organizations, and distributors regarding the
unapproved non-TSO status, of multi-axis G-switches and its mounting tray produced and sold by Ameri-King
Corp. , via Ameri-King Web Site www.ameri-king.net Web Link http://ameriking.net/documents/approval_documents
BACKGROUND
The Optional Multi-axis G-switch and its mounting tray, are optional accessories, non-TSO items. They may be
connected to Helicopter ELT, to allow the Helicopter ELT to activate in additional directions (-X, +/-Y and +Z
axes), whereas the TSO requires ELT to activate in +X axe direction only.
Lack of the Optional Multi-axis G-switch and its mounting tray, has no effect to the TSO ELT operation.
The ELT and all related accessories are classified as a non essential Equipment. (See FAA letter dated 4/16/08)
RECOMMENDATIONS
Ameri-King Corp recommends the optional Multi Axes G Switch 450000-1, to be disconnected from the Helicopter
ELT system as follows:
1. Moving the Remote Cable Assy 4500041 from: Muti Axes G Switch Receptacle P2 to: ELT main Unit
Receptacle P-1.
For General Installation Connection (Existing Configuration), Refer to Doc IM-451, App A, Fig 2.3 (Page 107).
For Wiring Diagram (New Configuration), refer to Doc IM-451, Fig 14.1a (Page 62)
2. For Direction Determination for Helicopter, refer to Doc IM-451, Fig 1.1 (Page 29)
3. Perform Quick Operation Check per Doc IM-451, App A.1 (Page 114)
If these articles are found in existing inventory, it is recommended that they be quarantined to prevent installation
until a determination can be made as to their disposition.

positions.
Note 2: Press RESET anytime to turn off unwanted transmission.
*WARNING Do not allow ELT On test duration and G Switch test duration, to exceed 5-10
seconds. A false alarm may be generated.
Any time the ELT is activated, it is transmitting a 121.5 MHz and 243.0 MHz distress signal.
If the ELT operates for approximately 50 seconds, a “live” 406 MHz distress signal is transmitted
and is considered valid by the Cospas-Sarsat satellite system.
**WARNING Any time that the ELT Main Switch is lifted and flipped from “OFF” to “ARM”, a 406
MHz self test burst is transmitted (after 25 seconds), however it is specially coded as a “self test,
Bit reversal” signal that is ignored by the COSPAS-SARSAT satellites.
