Recently DDM became owner of the
Hemweg 7 power plant which is out of
operation since December 2012.
Since that moment precautions are taken
to ensure that the equipment of the power
plant stays in its perfect condition.
The plant consists of one direct fired boiler
installation, heavy fuel oil (HFO) and gas, and
a steam turbine in combination with a gas
turbine.
The gas turbine is able to run in combination
with a boiler and steam turbine or seperatly.
The boiler and steam turbine were
commissioned in 1978. The gas turbine
GT13E which has been taken into operation
in 1988 is available.
The new EV burner unit has been installed
in 1996.

medium pressure and two low pressure turbines.

Shutdown Restrictions
Shutdown a unit regularly can be done in respect to two aims, i.e. being available for production as fast
as possible or being available for maintenance as fast as possible. We distinguish therefor two types of
shutdown: Shutdown Warm, Shutdown Cold
The stop procedures describe from a specific amount of power output which special restrictions occur. The
format equals the format of the control restrictions.
Characteristics of the old configuration
Power output depends on air and cooling water temperature. Therefore temperature curves are set for
planning purposes.

Properties
The calling time is the time needed for a Powerplant to come standby and is downtime dependable.
The start time is the time needed to come from standby to parallel and is also downtime dependable.
Control Restrictions (Regelrestricties or Ramping)
Per specified call time control restrictions are given. Once a unit delivers power, for all start types maximum
control restrictions apply. The maximum control restrictions are noted points in time and net power output.
The maximum control restrictions are valid if the unit is ramped up to its maximum. In the ranges between
the dictated points, more points can be described.
