MND Week in Elliston - Laps of
the Oval (Article from MND news
letter)
The MND group of walkers. Well done on the funds
raised for MND. Photo from Audine Tree, taken on the
Elliston Football Oval.
Unable to attend the Adelaide Walk to
D Feet, some local Elliston residents
didn't let that stop them from raising
funds through their own local event.
Thanks to the people of the small
coastal town of Elliston (population
250) for their generosity in the Laps
of the Oval event Organised by a client of the Association, Audine, the
Laps of the Oval event was held in
MND Weed and raised $600 to support the work of MND researchers
Locals were asked to walk around the
oval and pay $1 per lap. 22 ladies
and 2 dogs participated in the event
and instead of paying $1 per lap they
offered $5, $10 and $20! Thank you

We are pleased to report that our Branch
has been financially finally able to donate
to our South Australian Country Women’s
Association State Objective –‘Riding for the
Disabled’. This is largely due to funds
earned by catering to the bus tours.
Our NEXT MEETING is our Annual
General Meeting , Thursday 10th July at
10.30am, in the CWA rooms on
Memorial Dr.
After the meeting, at about Midday, our
member Sue Rawson will bring a little of
the Deep South to us as she recounts her
memories of a recent holiday on the
mighty Mississippi River. We are having a
shared lunch and everyone is welcome
to join us. It will be great to hear of Sue’s
adventures and it will be lovely to see
some visitors. Please feel welcome.
