CPN History & Vision
History
Incorporated on May 12, 2010, CPN entered into a
partnership with CCSD, Charleston County, City of
Charleston, City of North Charleston, corporations,
foundations, and individuals to focus resources
and efforts to improve the lives of families in our
Neighborhood.

Vision
All four neighborhood schools will be among the
best in Charleston County. (aligned with Vision
2016 goals)
Schools: Chicora, James Simons, Mary Ford, and
Sanders-Clyde.

Vision
The Neighborhood will be socially and
economically indistinguishable from the rest of
Charleston County within a generation.

as the Charleston Promise Neighborhood
Learning Community (CPNLC) and assigned
LaTisha Vaughn Brandon as the Assistant
Associate Superintendent of the CPNLC.

However, it was not achieving desired results at the pace needed to
ensure the CPN Learning Community students were positioned to
meet Vision 2016 goals.
Due to CPN’s limited financial capacity and higher needs identified
by CPNLC schools, funds were repurposed.
