Advanced bioceramic of superior biocompatibility and regenerative properties
prepared by EPD
Objectives:
•To generate new nano and micro structured bioceramics with superior
mechanical and biocompatible properties obtained by electrophoretic
deposition (EPD).
• To adapt the new process to industrial scale
Expected results:
• Preparation of bioactive surfaces by EPD.
• Preparation of a commercially viable prototype for a bioimplant with a
bioceramic coating.
• Establishment of EPD, as an industrially viable method of choice for the
taylored manufacture of bioceramics.
