SCG-FRM-010:
Supplier commitment form to comply with regulations relative to the
put on the market and the use of hazardous substances, on their own,
in preparation or in article
Many countries in the world share a common vision for limitation of the adverse effect of use and production of
chemicals on human health and environment. It comes down to modifications of their regulation regarding the use
of chemicals.
Within the European Economic Area, the REACH regulation (EC No 1907/2006) specifies the obligations that each
company must comply with (manufacturer, distributor or importer of article, preparation or chemicals) regarding
hazardous substances.
As a reminder, under this regulation, the supplier commits:
1. Regarding the supply of articles (e.g. metallic part, plastic, fastener, doors system, electronic components…) to:
- Comply with communication provisions pursuant to Article 33 of REACH regulation
- Not use, in any way, substances listed in annexe XIV of REACH regulation after the sunset date
- Not deliver articles containing substances listed in the annexe XVII of REACH in their area of restriction.
2. Regarding the supply of preparation and chemicals (including, but not limited to : glue, paint, putty …), the
Supplier commits to provide the Safety Data Sheets, up to date according the REACH regulation provisions. The
safety Data Sheets shall cover ALSTOM Transport uses.
3. Regarding the preparation containing a substance submitted to an Exposure Scenario, the Supplier shall provide a
« unique » Safety Data Sheet including the Exposure Scenario for the preparation.
In addition, the Supplier shall comply with the regulation changes, especially regarding the updates of substances
lists and shall provide ALSTOM Transport, all the up-to-date information according the relevant legal provisions.

In the light of this, ALSTOM Transport has established a procedure that is detailed in the standard ENG-STD-003
“Instruction to suppliers concerning hazardous substances” available at:
http://www.alstom.com/transport/supplier-portal/REACH/
The acceptance and the compliance with this instruction is a prerequisite for submitting a tender to ALSTOM
Transport.
By signing this document, the Supplier acknowledges that he has read the standard ENG-STD-003 and accepted the
principles.
