The compressor pump is an American made HYPRES H-3, 3-stage air-cooled compressor pump.
Splash lubricated 64 ounce oil capacity and designed specifically for CNG Home Fill Station application,
with no cooling interval shut-down required. Relief valves on all cylinders. The Fill Rate is 5 CFM, which is
2 Gallon GGE per hour with a working pressure of 3600-PSI. The crankshaft is 4.5 Lbs and utilizes two
front roller ball bearings. The unit is capable of starting under full load, with no bleed-down required.
Pistons are single acting. All pistons have rings and are attached to the crankshaft via a Master-Rod and
2 Slave-Rods utilizing 1 crankshaft bearing. This assembly allows for less mass and provides a very
strong rotating assembly. The package is shipped ready for installation with routine electrical connection
and natural gas suction and discharge connections, all located on the exterior of the enclosure.
CONTROL SYSTEM: The unit is driven by An American Made Baldor Premium 3 HP 208/230/460
VAC, 60 Hz. single phase electric motor. Analog Electrical Components control the compressor safety
devices that include low/high inlet (suction) pressure shutdown switch, high pressure shutdown switch.
On/off controls and enunciator lights to inform of system failure mode and emergency stop switch. The
operating pressure of the system is 3600 PSI. The control enclosure is assembled separate from the
package to allow installation remotely from the system. As part of the installation, the system has to have
an emergency shut down switch installed on the exterior of the building.
DISCHARGE/ DRYER SYSTEM:
The condensate drain valve system consists of a back-pressure valve, and step-down regulator coming
from the coalescing filter with stainless steel discharge tubing where the final stage is drained at
shutdown and vented to the atmosphere at the roof line.
Desiccant dryer with silica gel installed on the suction line is optional.
GAS INLET SYSTEM:
A 1” threaded connection at the exterior panel of the enclosure which connects directly to the First Stage
Cylinder for natural gas delivery to the system.
OPERATING AND SERVICE MANUALS:
Printed material including process flow sheets, electrical circuit diagrams and operation & service
instructions including exploded illustrations of the pump and assembly are standard with the package.
There are approximately 6 sections or components in this system.
1. Gas Suction Line: Requires plumber to install a Model HGP-H Gas Switch and a wing-gate valve.
2. Electrical & Controls: control box, controller, relay, overload, contactor, start & stop switch, hour
meter, red light, emergency stop switch, control wire & conduit and pressure switch.
3. Motor & Base: American-Made Baldor L1408TM-3hp T.P. electric motor
4. Fill Hose & Connection: Dispenser hose 12 foot overall w/ breakaway, nozzle and fittings
5. Gas Discharge Line: plumbing and fittings
6. Drain & Discharge: step-down regulator, oil separator, solenoid valve, coelllesor & check valve
