Services Provided: Provide overall planning, administration, training and evaluation of all Public Health services and
programs. Work directly with many community agencies to assess and plan for collaborative
healthy community work. Work directly with and for the Community Health Board - which is the
Human Services Board
Program areas: Community assessment and planning on a continuous five year basis. Emergency
planning and leadership for Public Health emergencies. Works closely with local, State and
Federal organizations on health policy. Evaluates and develops standards for the administration
and implementation of Public Health programs. Provides leadership in the assessment, writing and
evaluation of the Community Services Plan, the Public Health Strategic Plan and the Public Health
Quality Improvement Plan. Administrator of Public Health local ordinances. Is responsible for the
Public Health budget and working with Fiscal/Technology, Social Services and Financial Services
in its development. Provide leadership in maintaining services that meet the Public Health Mission
statement and the Human Services Mission statement. Provide oversight of contracts and grants.
Direct supervision of Supervisory staff in Public Health. Provide Public Health information to the
Human Services Board on a regular basis. Sign Public Health contracts with the Minnesota
Department of Health and other agencies that Public Health contracts with. Work closely with
Human Services Management in decision making and collaboration of services.
