MCL were approached by a major water company with a view to replacing their current bore-hole kiosks with LPCB SR3 certified kiosks. The scope of work included removal and disposal of the existing kiosk and the manufacture and installation of the new kiosks. MCL were responsible for conducting site surveys of over 30 sites and providing a like for like, but security enhanced, kiosk for the existing assets. The Solution:MCL tendered for the package of work and, once the order was received, attended programme meetings to ensure the targeted completion date could be achieved – thirty SecurbiltTM LPCB SR3 kiosks within a four month period. MCL took full responsibility for ensuring that the kiosks were to the correct specification and that all existing vents and electrical equipment were retro-fitted to the new kiosks. The MCL site installation teams removed batches of the existing kiosks replacing them with the new security rated kiosks on the same day, ensuring that all of the customers assets were secure at all times. The Result: The project was completed on time and within the cost expectations of the customer. Glowing reports were received on the quality and commitment of the site installation team who had to deal with last-minute scheduling changes and sites which had been affected by continuous rainfall. CASE STUDY : B The Brief: A manufacturer of dosing systems was having problems with their usual SR3 kiosk supplier, late deliveries were causing major issues for them. They had heard that MCL had invested time and money to develop an LPCB SR3 security rated range so approached us for a quote and a delivery commitment that would be met. The SR3 kiosk we quoted was a large (12m x 4m x 4m) kiosk with many additional features. The client also required four smaller, standard, kiosks for the same project. They were looking for a supplier who could manage the delivery and installation of all five kiosks at the same time to reduce time on site. The Solution: MCL manufactured a SecurbiltTM kiosk with additional features: removable roof, chemical containment (bunded), removable sill on the double door set, fill point, partition wall, structural floor and a lifting solution (capable of lifting 15 tons total weight). It was delivered fully built to the client’s premises, where it was fitted with the dosing equipment, prior to being delivered to site. The four standard CorbiltTM kiosks joined the security kiosk on site and were installed on the same day. The Result: All five kiosks were delivered in line with the customer quality, price and delivery expectations. 4 Market Leading Products for Utility, Infrastructure and Construction CorbiltTM GRP Bespoke Kiosks GRP kiosks have many advantages over traditional, brick-built and steel enclosures. Off-site construction with a quick installation have a lower impact on the site surroundings than a traditional build and the flexibility of design and choice of external finish gives a visually pleasing housing that suits the environment. MCL design, manufacture and install Corbilt™ custom designed kiosks of any size, (our largest dimensions to date being 20m length, 8m depth, 5m height) with a wide range of fittings and accessories. The customer asked for the kiosk to be delivered flat-packed, assembled on site, installed then equipped with various electrical fittings. The Solution: MCL designed the kiosk and, on reviewing the drawing, it appeared possible to deliver the kiosk fully built and fully equipped prior to installation. MCL work closely with a specialist transport company who undertook their survey. The survey proved that the large kiosk could, indeed, be delivered in one piece, the customer placed the order. The Result: This decision reduced the time required on site dramatically, a much more attractive option for the customer, all manufacturing and electrical installation was completed at MCL premises enabling commissioning on the day of installation. CASE STUDY : D The Brief: An existing customer to MCL approached us with a problem with a proposed electrical control cabinet, the kiosk had to be positioned above an underground access chamber. Obviously, access to the chamber had to be maintained at all times so a conventional floor within the kiosk would not be appropriate. The Solution: MCL’s design engineers came up with an integral structural steel base as a solution. Using anti-slip chequer plate steel flooring with a hidden supporting structure, we constructed and fitted a base with a removable inspection plate. The Result: Problem solved! The kiosk was positioned and installed where required, access to the underground chamber was maintained. Call us on 01782 411 611 or visit mcl-utility.co.uk 7 Case Studies CASE STUDY : E The Brief: A new MCL customer asked us for a solution to house their lift equipment on a roof. The kiosk had to conform to building regulation insulation properties and be capable of being lifted by crane on to a 5 storey roof top. The Solution: MCL manufactured a kiosk with a “U” Value of 0.15W/m2/oC and had all the lifting attachment points certificated for the lift. The Result: After extensive risk assessment/method statements were undertaken, MCL delivered and installed this unusually sited kiosk. A mobile crane was used to lift the kiosk to the roof, the lifting requirements carried out as set out in BS7121. All necessary certification and health and safety paperwork was submitted prior to installation which was completed on time. CASE STUDY : F The Brief: A Customer approached MCL for a kiosk with gas tight compartments to prevent the unwanted leakage of dangerous chemicals from the kiosk whilst maintaining the LPCB Level 3 certification. The Solution: MCL manufactured a kiosk with 3 compartments separated by sealed internal walls. MCL carried out a gas test prior to shipping the kiosk, a certified gas test was later carried out when the kiosk was installed on site. The Result: The kiosk was supplied with a structural base and sent to the client’s workshop where it was equipped and later sent to the end customer. 8 Market Leading Products for Utility, Infrastructure and Construction Standard Range MCL’s IC range of housings have been successfully supplied into the construction, water, and electricity service industries for over 30 years.
