INTRODUCTION
LOCATION:
About 10 KM from Down Town on Sheikhupura Road having Total Area about 28 Acres.
HISTORY:
Established in 1962 as Technical Training Institute TTI (Electrical) at Lahore.
Shifted to Faisalabad in 1971 in present WAPDA building.
Acquired the status of WAPDA Engineering Academy in 1988.
Mainly sponsored by GTZ (Germany) in the installation of Steam, Gas, Grid
Simulators & other Electrical, Mechanical & Civil Engineering Labs.
A sole Institution imparting Technical Trainings to Engineers & Supervisory Staff of
WAPDA/PEPCO, IPPs & Private/ Public Sector Organizations like KESC, Atomic
Energy Commission, Textile Industries and AJK Electricity Deptt.
Collaborating with Engineering Universities for joint educational activities, sharing of
Laboratories & students internship Programs as per MOUs.
Consists of well equipped Laboratories & Workshops to provide dynamic environment
for technical awareness.

Computer literacy is one of the important component of Academy’s programmes.
Computer are extensively being used in WEA in the fields of Office Management,
Instructional assignments, research/Development & Software Development/
implementation.
IT Lab. remains open till 10:00 PM daily and man used in 02 shifts i.e
The Computer study is part & parcel of every course. The participants of every course
attend the Computer section for one week.
Computers are internally networked & high speed Internet connectivity is available. The
participants & Instructors are facilitated to complete their practical assignments/
syndicate reports & Lectures even after the end of their regular classes. They are also
provided the broadband access to Internet.
