Residence Hall Move In
Residence Halls
First year residents living on campus, this is the day! Come with your vehicles loaded and your boxes and bags
labeled with your room assignment. We will help unload your car and move boxes and bags to your new home.
For detailed move-in information, visit wtamu.edu/movein.
*Some student groups (for example, marching band, student athletes, and international students) will move in
on August 18 due to University-sponsored events. These students are encouraged to participate in Buff
Branding as their schedules allow. We hope to see you at 7:00 for Playfair!

This event makes it official! With University alumni, current Buffs, President O'Brien and many members of the
WT community gathered around the stage, first-year students will be "branded" a Buff. Don't worry, the branding
doesn't hurt, but the event is sure to make a lasting impression.
Wear your official Buff Branding T-shirt and get ready to dance because WT's own DJ Ceddy Ced followed
by DJ Earworm will mix it up on the Vaughan Pedestrian Mall after you've been branded.

The International Student Office will host a special session for international students to talk about employment,
social security, taxes, immigration and health care.
NOTE: This session is required for all first-year, transfer and graduate international students.

Community Service Projects
Virgil Henson Activities Center
If you signed up for a service project, be at the entrance to the Virgil Henson Activities Center (VHAC) at the
time designated on your service card. Giving back to the community is an important part of joining the Buff
family, so thank you for your service.
NOTE: If you did not sign up for service and want to serve, go to the VHAC to see if there are projects in need of
volunteers. If you decide not to participate, consider "giving back" or "paying it forward" in some way this
morning. Write someone a thank you note. Pick up the phone and call someone who has made a difference in
your life. Make a small donation to a cause you are passionate about.

Want a sneak peek at WT football? We will provide shuttle service from Buffalo Sports Park to Kimbrough
Memorial Stadium for the 6:30 p.m. scrimmage.

the 6:30 p.m. scrimmage. The shuttles will return to campus at 7:30 and 7:45 p.m.

Downtown Canyon – The Square
Shop Canyon's local merchants and experience Canyon's downtown square. Many in-store discounts will be
offered to WT students. Hungry? Satisfy your cravings at a food truck or choose a snack at one of the local
eateries - coffee, ice cream, cupcakes and other sweet treats are always available downtown. You'll find unique
items, clothing, entertainment, relaxation and hometown WT pride.
Transportation: A bus will pick up students at the south entrance of Buffalo Sports Park and drop off at the
downtown square. The last trip back to campus will leave the square at 2:00 p.m.

Night at the Museum

Tonight Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum (PPHM) will open its doors for WT students only. Show your
Buffalo Gold Card at the door. Music and a buffalo themed scavenger hunt in the dark.

Shuttle to Walmart
Meet at BSP – south entrance
If you need transportation to/from Walmart for last minute back-to-school shopping, we can help! Catch the
shuttle to Walmart between 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Meet at the south entrance of Buffalo Sports Park. After
shopping, the shuttle will drop you off at your residence hall.
2:30-4:30 p.m.
Find That Classroom
Hayward Clock Tower
Bring your class schedule and meet at the Hayward Clock Tower, north of the Buffalo Fountain and Old Main,
anytime between 2:30 and 4:30. A peer leader will help you find your classrooms before classes start.
