2015 AHPBA Abstract Submission Guidelines *ABSTRACT SUBMISSION DEADLINE IS September 26, 2014 11:59pmEDT* Abstract Acceptance and Presentation The guidelines for submission of abstracts may be updated, if necessary. Please read prior to the abstract deadline for any changes. Specific instructions are listed throughout the submission site, please follow them carefully. We suggest that you print out these guidelines to refer to them during the submission process. AHPBA Abstract Specifications • Abstract length is limited to 250 words. • Special Characters may be entered using the Special Character (Ω) button below. • There is only one table or one graphic allowed per submitted abstract. • You must select a presentation preference from the following choices: o Full Oral Presentation o Mini Oral Presentation/Poster Presentation o Video Presentation (Oral only). As part of the video submission process, a written abstract must be submitted. Time limit for videos is up to 10 minutes. • PLEASE DO NOT: o Place title information in the body of the Abstract. o Place author information in the body of the Abstract. o Place department or institution information in the body of the Abstract. o Acknowledge research grant support in the body of the Abstract. o Use capitals, highlighting, bolding or underlining for emphasis within the Abstract. • DRUG NAMES: o At the first mention of a drug, the nonproprietary generic name in lower case is required followed by the proprietary name capitalized and in parentheses, e.g. furosemide (Lasix) • TERMINOLOGY: o Please use Brisbane 2000 terminology to describe liver resection and anatomy. Comparing long-term outcomes beyond the median follow-up time point is discouraged. Acceptance: Abstracts are selected on the basis of scientific merit and are allocated to Oral Presentation, Mini Oral Presentation, Poster Presentation or Video Presentation. Authors of abstracts accepted for Full Oral (podium) presentation or the Young Investigator Award Session are required to submit manuscripts for publication in HPB, the official journal of the AHPBA and the International Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association (IHPBA). Failure to do so will incur a 2-year sanction for the primary and senior authors. Papers must be submitted electronically by March 25, 2015 at http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/hpb. All manuscripts submitted to HPB are subject to peer review. Abstract acceptance at the annual meeting is not a guarantee of manuscript publication. Presentation: 1. Submission of an abstract constitutes a commitment by the author(s) to present, if accepted. 2. Expenses associated with the submission and presentation of an abstract are the responsibility of the presenter and will include hotel, travel and meeting registration. 3. The AHPBA reserves the right to all video or audio recordings of presentations at the 2015 AHPBA Annual Meeting.
