How to become a supplier to the WFP –UNHRD?
Prerequisites: registration on UNGM and In-Tend (1 / 2)
Potential vendors are encouraged to register through the UNGM
(United Nations Global Marketplace www.ungm.org/Index.aspx ).
• It should be noted that the application for registration does not
mean that the supplier will be automatically included in the vendor
database. Anyhow when submitting the request the potential
vendor can select the UN organizations he wants to work for (i.e.
WFP, UNPD, UNICEF etc.)
• When registering, the supplier shall enter information which refers
to the Company profile such as, Financial statement for the past
three years, size of the company, number of employees,
equipment in use, assets, address, banking details.
• Once the registration process is evaluated positively, the name of
the supplier is added to the vendor list.
• The registration process is mandatory in order to become a vendor
to the UN and more specifically to WFP. This will enable the
supplier to receive tenders.

How to become a supplier to the WFP –UNHRD?

• In order to finalize the registration process it is mandatory
to complete the sign up on the new web-based electronic
tendering system in use with WFP-UNHRD (https://ungm.intend.co.uk/wfp/aspx/Registration)
• The registration is a requirement for receiving WFP-UNHRD
invitations to tenders.

In order to be successful in preparing an offer in response to an Invitation
to WFP-UNHRD tender a supplier should:
• Have good knowledge of the general United Nations structure, good
language skills (English) and possibly be experienced as an exporter of
goods;
• Always respond promptly to an inquiry or request for proposal from WFPUNHRD even if you are not interested or able to bid. If you remain silent,
you will be removed from the list after the third attempt.
• Carefully evaluate the tender documents, and in case of doubt, ask for
clarifications keeping in mind that all your communication also will be
shared with all other potential bidders.
• Each supplier’s offer shall meet all technical requirements and include, if
needed, the certificates of compliancy to the national/international
standards. Alternative solutions can be submitted provided that the offer
includes the necessary justifications, the advantages and/or
disadvantages. The technical project, which must not contain any
reference to prices/quotations and shall be kept separate from the
financial project otherwise the offer will be invalidated.

• Submit the offer in the language requested on the tender documents
(usually English) using the forms received with the invitation to tender.
•
Meet the deadline! Keep time zones and time difference in mind.
Absolutely no exceptions will be made. Late bids will be rejected upon
submission. Adherence to the tender terms and conditions is crucial for
successful bidding!
• If unsuccessful please ask for a debriefing to understand your strength
and weakness. By doing so the supplier will certainly avoid perpetrating
the same errors.
• If successful, perform in accordance with the terms and conditions of the
contract.
