Increased Dust-Holding Capacity for
altair®Systems for Offshore and Coastal
Environments
The CLARCOR Industrial Air high velocity altair PFA pre-filter pocket
has been specifically developed for AltairSystems for offshore and
coastal environments.
The PFA pre-filter pocket significantly increases the system’s dustholding
capacity—and the life of the high efficiency filters—when used with HEA,
KEY BENEFITS
HXA, or HVA final filters. It also provides a cleanable filter element that
• Substantially increases the life of altair
HEA/HXA/HVA high efficiency filters
• Fully cleanable and able to be changed out on
load (eliminating the need for turbine shutdown)
• High volume flow and small filter face area (up
to 65% smaller than conventional designs)
• High dust-holding capacity and longer filter life
help reduce filtration costs
• Low pressure loss helps increase power output
and/or improve fuel efficiency
• Flat-pack pocket design reduces storage space
for spare filters

turbine.
Construction
To provide filtration and pressure-loss characteristics that remain
enhanced when operating in wet or dry conditions, the PFA pre-filter
pocket utilizes a combination of advanced synthetic media. Stainless steel
header frames help protect against corrosion during normal operation.
Maintenance
The altair PFA pre-filter is easily cleaned. Dry dust may be removed by
inverting the bag and lightly beating the media, or by washing with fresh
water. Greasy contaminants can be removed by washing the media with
CLARCOR Industrial Air Cleaning Fluid and rinsing with fresh water.
