The ILV 2025 has a systemic view and it introduces a paradigm shift from the traditional sector-based description of the industrial system to a more function-based representation of the production and consumption system Outcomes and further research o Identification of five priorities areas for standards development and main implications for the European standardisation system Need for new standards identified (standards for integration, environmental sustainability, quality and performance, services and de-risking standards) o Development of a template for standardisation organisation to embed a continuous foresight process as part of the current standardisation process to identify earlier areas in the research and development cycle in need for standards development o Role of standards in an innovation system Contribute to a better organised industrial supply side ("standards for integration") Serves as a platform of communication and knowledge diffusion Advocacy for new technologies and innovation Facilitates new markets o Stress test the vision – development of a strategic plan for European industrial development crossing different policy fields
