16 April, 2014, Indonesia - INDOPLAS, INDOPACK (incorporating INDOPROCESS)
and INDOPRINT 2014, Indonesia’s leading international events for the plastic,
processing, packaging and printing industries, is set to welcome first-time national
pavilions from Italy and Thailand – joining the already robust line-up of national
pavilions and country groups from Austria, China, Germany, Taiwan, and Singapore.
Returning for the second edition with a two-fold expansion in booth size, the
Austrian pavilion will feature more machinery and equipment within INDOPLAS.
Strong German presence will be evident across all three sectors with spaces reserved
by leading industry leaders including Arburg, Heidelberg, Koenig and Bauer Group
(KBA), Kolbus, Merz and Reifenhäuser.
Six months ahead of the trade fairs, floor space booked for the three events is
already about 50% larger than the 2012 edition with an additional hall at JI Expo
(Jakarta
International
Expo,
Kemayoran,
Indonesia)
already
planned,
to
accommodate the anticipated 400 international exhibitors from over 20 countries.
Jointly organized by Messe Düsseldorf Asia and local partner PT. Wahana Kemalaniaga
Makmur (WAKENI), this year’s event takes place from 3 to 6 September 2014. The
synergistic trade fairs are modeled after the world’s largest trade events in the
plastics, processing, packaging and printing sectors – K, interpack and drupa,
organized by Messe Düsseldorf in Germany.

With preparation for INDOPLAS, INDOPACK, and INDOPRINT 2014 now in full swing, more than half of
the exhibitors are from overseas - accounting for about 60% of exhibitors. The strong growth in
exhibitor participation from leading global brand names, such as Andritz, ASABA, ENGEL, EREMA,
Formative Tech, Geiss, ifw mould tec, Kraiburg TPE Technology, MORETTO, Nagasaki, Panji Media
Pratama, Piovan Asia Pacific, Rotometrics (SE Asia), SML Maschinengesellschaft, Starlinger, TIPPS,
Weldy, Wittmann Kunststoffgeräte and others signal the international plastics, processing, packaging
and printing industries’ confidence in the Indonesian market.
Participation from Indonesia’s most competitive market leaders include Best Ink, Maxipro, Digital Prima
Imaging, Digital Visual Teknologi, Eka Maju Mesinindo, Growtech Anugerah Lestari, , Illies Engineering
Indonesia, Indokarta Printmate, Master Label, Mimaki Indonesia, Panji Media Pratama, Rieckermann
Indonesia, Sansin Indonesia, Tosi Jasindo, Tunas Mitra Sukses and many more.
According to Ms Rini Sumardi, Director of WAKENI, the robust internationality of the exhibitors
together with the increased participation from Indonesian suppliers and manufacturers reflect the
immense potential of Indonesia as a highly attractive location to do business. “The three trade fairs are
an ideal platform to penetrate the market or strengthen their presence in Indonesia’s plastics,
packaging and printing industries. INDOPLAS, INDOPACK incorporating INDOPROCESS and INDOPRINT
2014 come precisely at the right time,” said Ms Rini Sumardi.
“As Indonesia is in need of more sophisticated and innovative technology materials, driven by rapid
expansion of the middle class, demand for infrastructure and property development, its large
manufacturing base as well as strong resources industry - gaining capabilities and cost efficiencies will
be key concerns in the near future for Indonesian companies to stay competitive,” she added.
Mr Gernot Ringling, Managing Director, Messe Düsseldorf Asia, said: “Indonesia has vast potential in
the plastics, packaging and printing industries and is increasingly growing as a highly attractive
Southeast Asian market.” With a current population of 242 million, Indonesia is projected to be the 7th
largest economy in the world by 2030 with 135 million members of the consuming class. “On the back
of the highly successful inaugural global edition of these trade fairs, we are confident that INDOPLAS,
INDOPACK, and INDOPRINT 2014 will experience strong growth not only in terms of size as we continue

to serve the needs of the markets, but also in visitorship as we aim for 25,000 trade visitors this year,”
he said.
Mr Budi Susanto Sadiman, Vice Chairman of Business Development, INAplas (The Indonesian Olefin,
Aromatic and Plastic Associations) welcomed the INDOPLAS, INDOPACK, AND INDOPRINT exhibitions.
According to him, “While the government’s effort to set the Domestic Market Obligation (DMO) level for
the petrochemical industry feedstock, naphtha and condensate will reduce dependence on imported
naphtha and condensate, 60% of domestic naphtha needs which reached 1.8 million tons are still
imported from abroad. Despite of this, huge amounts of naphtha and condensate produced in Indonesia
have been widely exported abroad. He also added that "The INDOPLAS, INDOPACK, and INDOPRINT
exhibitions would provide strategic opportunities to source for new solutions for the processing of
naphtha, and in tandem expand the business network of Indonesian entrepreneurs," said Mr Sadiman.
INDOPLAS, INDOPACK incorporating INDOPROCESS, and INDOPRINT 2014 will present the full range of
the plastics, processing, packaging and printing value chain, from raw materials to processing methods,
machines and equipment, innovative solutions through to finished components. For the last edition in
2012, some 253 exhibitors from 19 countries shared their latest product developments, applications
and solutions to more than 17,000 international trade visitors.
