Suparno, M.S.I.E., Ph.D ABSTRACT Micro, small, and medium enterprises have an important role in Indonesia’s economic development. Micro, small, and medium enterprises contributed around 56% to total Gross Domestic Product in 2010. But in the future, micro, small, and medium enterprises will face ASEAN China Free Trade Agreement (ACFTA). That agreement requires Indonesia to open the domestic market to ASEAN China Free Trade Agreement countries including Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapura, Filipina dan Brunei Darussalam, and China. Therefore, Micro, small, and medium enterprises in Indonesia must improve their competitiveness in order to win the market. One of Micro, small, and medium enterprises in Indonesia is metal based processing enterprise in Ngigas, Sidoarjo. In order to improve their competitiveness, they should expand their cooperation among other enterprises . One form of the cooperation is in supplying of raw material which is buying consortium system. Buying consortium system is the horizontal relationship between enterprises or independent organization in purchasing to get some advantages. This research designs mobile information system with implementation of buying consortium.
