Doug will be hard at work during the CESC Fall Classic, November 1-2. Currently, he plans to film as many games as possible, potentially one in every time slot available, with hopes of purchase options for parents. Each game Doug Bruce filmed can also be broken down into “Team Tactical Clips” for coaches and www.opticalsportsanalysis.com players, “Individual Player Game Clips” for parents and players themselves to photo: www.kenlolla.com view their own game, and “Highlight/Recruitment” videos, and the “Full Game Video” option. Video analysis is an effective tool for improving a player’s performance. “The most efficient method [to communicate corrections to players] is to show them visual images, because that gets the idea across very quickly,” Carles Planchart, leader of team analytics for Pep Guaradiola’s Bayern Munich team, said. Additionally, Doug is looking to purchase a Hi-Pod, an aerial videography system that allows filming from the sidelines and from 30 feet in the air, while controlling the camera and viewing the game for ground level. “This should allow us to film a lot more games and give as many teams as possible the opportunity to see video analysis of their performances, which I believe is an essential part of the learning process in soccer and all sports,” Doug said. As a former Performance Analyst in the English Premier League, Doug has also self-contracted work with the University of Louisville Men’s and Women’s Soccer and Men’s Tennis programs for the past three years. He launched Optical Sports Analysis in March and primarily focuses on soccer matches. Working as an Express coach for the past two years, Doug will coach the U17 Boys Blue and the U15 Boys Orange this spring.
