There will be numerous community activities including education sessions in classrooms, and at community centres. These sessions will emphasize
the importance of effective daily cleaning as well as raise awareness of the importance of adequate fluid intake and healthy eating as part of a healthy,
active lifestyle.A Poster and colouring in competition will be held within the school community. Winners in the poster competition will have their posters

This Week’s Value:
Have reasons for what you say
1st September 2014 Term 3, Issue 8
and do.
Dear Parents, Carers and Students,
Last week we recognised National Literacy and Numeracy week as an important time in the calendar for
reflection on the role each of us play in producing high quality outcomes for each student. This week too, marks
an equally important occasion - School Support Staff Week and Teacher Aide Day.
We recognise the valuable work performed by administration and school’s officers, IT professionals and other
team members. Their efforts support efficient school operations and safe learning environments for students
and teaching staff, which is vital for improving student outcomes and developing positive school communities.
Each year on the first Friday in September, the department celebrates the valuable contributions made by
teacher aides each day of the school year around the state. The support they provide to teachers, classes and
individual students adds up to make a big difference.
Please take some time this week to thank our support staff and teacher aides when you are in the school.
Last Thursday night our P&C held a general meeting. P&C President Dale Squires informed the Executive that she
would be resigning following the meeting. We would like to thank Dale for her many, many hours of work and
dedication to P&C efforts, particularly the fete, and recognise the positive outcomes that have been reached as
a result. This will mean that during the next general meeting in Term 4, the P&C will be calling for nominations
for President. If you are interested in the position and would like some more information about the role, please
let me know and I can provide you with a role description.
The P&C has a strong desire to serve the best interests of the entire school community and to support the
everyday work performed by teachers in delivering a quality education for every child. Successful P&C’s require a
wide range of perspectives and knowledge backgrounds. I therefore encourage you to come along to a P&C
meet-and-greet BBQ on Sunday 14th September at 5pm. This informal event will be held at the school and will
give parents and carers the opportunity to come together and talk about the possibilities for the P&C and school
ahead.
Have a great week.
