Merge with APDerm - Janice Cleveland Washburn Dermatology

 Dear Patients,
After many years in solo practice, I merged my dermatology practice with Adult & Pediatric
Dermatology, p.c. (APDerm®). My office location and phone number will remain the same.
I am most fortunate to be joining an excellent group of physicians and mid-level providers at
APDerm®. Under the leadership of Samuel Goos, M.D., APDerm® has grown substantially over
the past twenty two years while maintaining the highest standards of patient care. As part of this
group I will be able to provide our patients with longer clinic hours, greater access to subspecialty services, and the benefits of enhanced administrative support.
With this merger, I welcomed Michael Krathen, M.D. to my Wellesley office on October 1,
2014. Dr. Krathen is a Board Certified Dermatologist who specializes in General Dermatology
and Cutaneous Oncology. Dr. Krathen will see patients on Mondays, Tuesdays & Fridays. I
expect a smooth transition and am pleased there will be dermatological care in our Wellesley
office five days a week.
Dr. Krathen completed his undergraduate education at the University of Pennsylvania. After
medical school at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, Dr.
Krathen completed a medical preliminary internship at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center
in Boston and trained at the Boston University/Tufts Combined Dermatology Residency
Training Program. Dr. Krathen was then recruited to the Stanford University Department of
Dermatology as a Clinical Assistant Professor and served as a full-time faculty member. While at
Stanford, Dr. Krathen served as the Associate Director of the Cutaneous Lymphoma Program,
led the Merkel Cell Program, treated patients in the Melanoma and Pigmented Lesion and
Supportive Dermato-Oncology Clinics, and initiated and directed the High-Risk/Transplant
Cutaneous Oncology Program. Currently, Dr. Krathen focuses his efforts on providing
outstanding care in the areas of general dermatology, cutaneous medical and surgical oncology,
and cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Krathen is on the medical staff of Emerson Hospital and is part of
the Partners HealthCare Network.
I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to you for entrusting me with your
dermatological care. It is a privilege to be part of this community, and I hope to continue to do so
for many years to come.
Warmest regards,
Janice Cleveland Washburn, M.D.
