Therefore, we cannot estimate the percentage of students who will ‘pass’ the PARCC. However, if the instruction is aligned to the Common Core State Standards, students should perform at a level that is in accordance with the standards. ◼ What data do you expect to receive from PARCC that will be available to teachers and parents? ◼ It is our expectation that the data provided to the district will provide a ‘snapshot’ of student’s progress towards mastery of the standards assessed. Frequently Asked Questions ◼ Will PARCC results be part or all of the criteria used to identify students for advanced/intervention programs? ◼ The district utilizes multiple measures to identify students for advanced or intervention programs. We will examine the results we receive from PARCC and determine if they are to be used as a component in determining eligibility in our programs. ◼ What steps has the district taken to ensure the technology is in place for PARCC? ◼ We have purchased Chromebooks for students to have access to throughout the year. ◼ We have conducted and continue to provide professional development workshops for all teachers focusing on PARCC and the technological skill sets needed for PARCC. ◼ Upgraded our infrastructure. ◼ Revised our curriculum for Technology, English Language Arts, and Mathematics to reflect skill sets needed for PARCC and the Common Core State Standards.
