Life” tab and enter the 2014-2015 housing application. You will see your room assignment
on the confirmation page!
Contacting Your Roommate
One of the biggest transitions many new students make is going from a private room at home
to a shared room on-campus. Most students enjoy living with a roommate and some
roommates turn into life-long friends.
When you contact your roommate for the first time, expect there will be differences between
the two of you. The goal of your first conversation is not to become best friends, but to
establish a solid base of communication you can build on once you arrive to campus.
Try these topics to get your first conversation rolling….





What activities do you want to get involved with on-campus?
What are your studying/majoring in?
What do you like to do for fun?
Who will bring what to campus (TV, stereo, etc)?
What are your tastes in music, art, sports, etc?
TIP: Be careful not to jump to conclusions based on Social Media.
